I want food. Just for the enjoyment of it. Scrambled eggs, bacon&liver sausage from link 41, sourdough bread, butter!
The last few days have been fine. My consumption went down a bit, I think. Under a gallon a day. Cora's been nursing less, though, so my reduced calorie need might have something to do with that.
My stomach is flat. I noticed today that the dry patches of skin on my upper arms are completely gone. I couldn't stop feeling my soft arms! I'm still waiting on my face to clear up. I though earlier today it might be looking better, but there are still two cystic things under the skin that haven't come up yet. I cant say whether or not they were there yesterday- not sure. If I see any new spots forming I'm going to have to rule out food allergy, I think. It most certainly can't be milk causing the zits, it is was you'd think I'd be breaking out like crazy!
I'm tired. Ready for some solid food. But determined to keep at it for my skin.
I started my period yesterday morning. No cramping or anything, though. I'm not even having sweets cravings.
This weekend is going to be hard. It's always hardest to eat well on the weekends, so not eating at all will be really difficult.
I noticed in tues that I had some mild pain in my molars. I oil pulled on wed & friday morning, and haven't noticed any pain at all today (Friday).
Why I'm Here
I started this blog to chronicle my learning experiences as I embark on an adventure to eat a WAPF diet and take care of my family in a healthy way. Not the way "they" say I should.
I'm not a fancy writer. I don't necessarily enjoy writing, as most bloggers do, but I found that many of the things I googled didn't come up with any satisfying results and I had to figure things out on my own. My hope is that, by writing down what I'm learning, someone else's journey to true health will be just a little bit easier.

Milk Feast - Day Two
Another busy day. I'm tired, but I think I would be no matter what I was eating. I've been irritable, but I don't usually feel hungry, so I don't feel like lack of nourishment is why. I think 3 year olds are just annoying sometimes.
My tounge is coated with white that won't brush off. I've heard of this as common, but don't know why.
I got some sun today, so I'm hoping that will help the detox thing further. I also bought a dry body brush that arrived in today's mail. I will start using it tomorrow before I shower.
I wish for a break. I wish to be caught up on all my duties, and for the children to go to a friends house for a day so I can rest and read some fiction! I need to prioritize resting over the next week or two.
Woke: 6:40
Bed: 11:15
Drank: approx 1 gallon. I did not keep close track today.
1 cup chicken broth

Milk Fast - Day One
Day one of milk feast. Active stressful day- going to get grassed beef from the slaughter house. I did well. I was a bit tired in the afternoon, and am tired earlier than usual in the evening, but I woke up an hour earlier than normal.
I drank 1 gallon of raw jersey milk, about 4 ounces of raw cream, 8 ounces of chicken broth and a few sips of water. I had to pee a looot today. I also took a nice long Epsom salt bath in the afternoon while the baby napped.
During this feast I hope to get closer to discovering why I have such terrible acne. Is either hormonal or a food sensitivity, and I'm hoping to narrow it down over the next couple weeks. Fingers crossed for clear radiant skin in 10 days, and the ability to ease myself back into food and find out what is causing the problem.
Another busy day tomorrow. Time to get to bed.

Baby Respiratory Problems
When my baby was 11 months old she came down with a cold. The usually stuffy nose made nursing miserable for a couple days. Gladly, that part didn't last long and nursing is as easy as ever. Unfortunately, ever since then (just over 3 weeks ago) she has had a cough. Her cough is so bad that she occasionally gags and throws up everything she just ate. I feel so sorry for the poor thing, and am starting to get concerned with the length of time it is taking her to recover.
My baby has never been to the doctor. She was born at home, and is unvaccinated, and has been completely healthy so there hasn't been a reason to until this month. However, I'm sure that if I take her then they'll prescribe antibiotics, which I absolutely do not want for her. I hope to provide her body what it needs to heal completely naturally.
Here's what I've done so far:
-Broken open allimax capsules and dissolved in filtered water and administered 1/4 to 1/2 capsule at a time with an eye dropper. She absolutely hates this, and I don't blame her- I'm sure it tastes terrible.
-a few days ago she started taking fermented cod liver oil and butter oil from greenpasture.org
-took her to see an acupuncturist friend who told me about a pressure point on the back of the neck on either side of the backbone that will help ease the gag reflex when she starts a coughing fit. I'm convinced that knowing this trick and being able to use it has kept several meals down that wouldn't have otherwise.
She hasn't taken to solids well yet, so most if not all of her diet is breastmilk. I wish she would eat food, so I could get some liver from grassed cow into her, along with some homemade chicken or beef broth, and some fermented foods such as yogurt or homemade fermented salsa.
I decided this morning it's time to start taking more drastic measures. I just borrowed a nebulizer from a friend, but instead of using prescription medication in it, I spent quite a bit of time this morning researching and reading about alternatives. I settled on using a couple drops of essential oils (lavender and eucalyptus), along with a dilution of food grade hydrogen peroxide.
I went out and bought 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide (which needs to be diluted with 1 part HP to 11 parts water, but I will probably to 11.5 or 12 parts water, just to be extra safe), distiller water, and glass eye droppers to mix them and put the solution into the nebulizer.
I will update with her progress and how this treatment works.
